On Good Friday, the saddest day for Christians, the liturgy commemorates the suffering, crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ, who sacrificed himself for the guilt and sins of humanity. ''The Cross is not the end. The Cross is the path to the Resurrection", Said Patriarch Daniil. "We should not fear or be ashamed of our faith, yet many Orthodox Christians today feel uneasy about expressing it. But why do we feel uneasy? Because someone suffered innocently for us? Because someone gave us life and gifted us resurrection?", Patriarch Daniil asked rhetorically.
