Bulgaria and East Timor discuss cooperation in education, agriculture and IT

The President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, José Ramos-Horta, is on a working visit to Bulgaria. This is the first bilateral visit since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and East Timor in 2003. At a meeting with Ramos-Horta, President Rumen Radev expressed his expectation that it will give impetus to the bilateral dialogue.

Education, science, information technologies, pharmacy, agriculture were highlighted as areas with potential for cooperation. The Bulgarian head of state pointed out the good traditions of the country in higher education and the training of personnel in the fields of medicine, agriculture, naval affairs and Bulgaria's readiness to assist East Timor in these areas.

José Ramos-Horta, pointed out that his country could be a gateway for Bulgaria for re-export to countries in Southeast Asia and Australia.
