Bulgarian President Rumen Radev had a telephone conversation with Polish President Andrzej Duda ahead of the upcoming Three Seas Initiative Summit in Warsaw. Radev highlighted the importance and potential of bilateral industrial cooperation, including in the fields of defense, transport and energy.

At the end of the month, the Bulgarian president, together with an economic delegation, will participate in the Three Seas Initiative and the accompanying business forum. This year, the regional format celebrates its 10th anniversary. It unites 13 EU countries located between the Baltic, Adriatic and Black Seas. The initiative's partners are the United States, Germany and the European Commission, and from 2023 Moldova and Ukraine will have the status of associate members.

The main goal of the Three Seas Initiative is to deepen the integration of Central and Eastern Europe by increasing interconnection in transport, energy and digitalization and consolidating the transatlantic partnership between the EU and the US.
