25% of workers are without an employment contract, the fight against the shadow economy should be a top priority for the state. This was stated on the occasion of Labor Day on May 1, Social Minister Borislav Gutsanov in Varna. For the minister, it is strange that some of the workers themselves do not want to have employment contracts.
This is a day loaded with a lot of history. A day that symbolizes an intransigence that led to change, but a change that was suffered, said Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Zafirov on the occasion of May 1.

"We are witnessing a transformation in the modern economy, when the worker is transformed from an expense into an investment. But such an investment requires good education, good social status, and good health status. This is how we see our role as a guarantor of this transformation," said Zafirov.

There are too many things about labour that need to be improved. It is good to start with pay. We still have many problems to solve there, said Dimitar Manolov, president of the Podkrepa Confederation of Labor on the occasion of May 1.
