Dispute between Sofia and Skopje over work on Corridor No. 8 continues

These are some bedtime stories. This is how Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Grozdan Karadzhov commented in an interview with BNT on the words of his counterpart from North Macedonia about Corridor No. 8.

A few days ago, the Minister of Transport in Skopje, Aleksandar Nikoloski, said that over 15 letters had been sent to Bulgaria, but no response from the Bulgarian side regarding the construction of the railway line to Bulgaria was received. Nikoloski also claims that Sofia is not investing in the renovation of the line to Kyustendil and the unfinished border tunnel.

"While Nikoloski was telling these stories, the train passed through Pernik, through Radomir and reached Kyustendil and from there it reached the last station of Gyueshevo to wait for the North Macedonian one," Karadzhov commented, adding that in 2032 the speed of the trains on the line would reach 160 km/h.
