Bulgarian students win nine medals in international maths competitions

In less than a month, Bulgarian students have won nine medals at prestigious international maths competitions - the Balkan Olympiad and the European Girls' Olympiad, according to the press centre of the Ministry of Education and Science.


The young mathematicians won six awards - one gold, four silver and one bronze medal - at the Balkan Mathematics Olympiad in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where they competed against 143 students from 23 countries. The team ranked third in the overall standings.


Prior to the Balkan Olympiad, the European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad was held in Pristina, bringing together over 220 participants from 55 countries. The Bulgarian girls won one silver and two bronze medals.
