Boyana Kostadinova wins gold and bronze at the World Weightlifting Championships in Lima

On the first day of the World Junior, Women's and Youth Weightlifting Championships in Lima, Boyana Kostadinova won two medals.

She won bronze in the girls' 49 kg - U-17 category with a total of 164 kg. Kostadinova secured gold in the snatch with a lift of 75 kg, but finished fourth in the clean and jerk with 89 kg.

In the same category, but for the under-20 girls, the 17-year-old Kostadinova placed fifth in the snatch and eighth in the clean and jerk to finish fifth overall.

In the men's U-20 category Dzhan Zarkov finished sixth with a total of 241 kg. He was seventh with 106 kg in the snatch and fifth with 135 kg in the clean and jerk.
