This spring, beekeepers in various regions of Bulgaria have reported a 90% mortality rate among bees. The industry is facing serious challenges due to the expected poor honey yields, and solutions are not possible without institutional intervention.

The alarmingly high bee mortality rate in Bulgaria is not a new phenomenon, but this spring it has escalated, warn beekeepers and veterinarians. The mass death of honeybees poses significant risks not only to the sector but also to biodiversity and crop pollination. According to industry representatives, the problem requires an urgent and coordinated response.

On this occasion, leaders of beekeeping organizations and veterinarians are discussing the causes of this high mortality and possible solutions at a press conference hosted by the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA).
