A national protest against the introduction of the euro and demanding the resignation of the government will be held on May 31, it became clear at a public discussion on the topic "How to save the lev" in Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture, BNR reporter Maria Fileva informed. The date was chosen because of its proximity to June 4, when the convergence report on Bulgaria's readiness to enter the eurozone is expected.

The organizers of the protest are a citizens' headquarters consisting of Strahil Angelov, Petar Volgin, Nedyalko Nedyalkov, Viktor Papazov and Assoc. Prof. Grigor Sariyski, who will send a letter to European and world leaders who could help their cause, it was reported. Among the leaders are US President Donald Trump, Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán and PM of Slovakia Robert Fico.

A declaration will also be submitted to President Rumen Radev with an appeal to reveal the truth about statistical data and the actual inflation in the country, the organisers say.
