President Rumen Radev intends to refer the matter to the Constitutional Court. But this will not affect the expected report from the European Commission on the country's readiness to join the eurozone, the Speaker of the National Assembly Natalia Kiselova told journalists. At the University of National and World Economy, she once again emphasized that the referendum requested by President Rumen Radev on entering the eurozone in 2026 is inadmissible by the constitution, BTA reports.
The president has the right to submit a request to the National Assembly, the parliamentary speaker noted. After referring the matter to the Constitutional Court, his arguments can be commented on. Kiselova pointed out that her last conversation with President Radev was on the morning of May 9 on the occasion of Victory Day and Europe Day. That same afternoon, the president announced his proposal for holding a referendum on the euro.

The same confidence that the president's request to hold a referendum on the euro will not affect the expected convergence report from Brussels was expressed by the Governor of the Bulgarian National Bank, Dimitar Radev, from Ruse, BGNES reported.
