On May 22, an exhibition called "A Colorful Czech in Bulgaria" will open at the National Museum of Military History in Sofia at 4:00 p.m. It is dedicated to the 165th anniversary of the birth and 110th anniversary of the death of Jaroslav Věšín - the first chief artist at the Ministry of War, who established himself as the founder of the battle genre in Bulgaria and had an exceptional impact on Bulgarian art and the school of painting at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, the museum reports.

The exhibition presents over 40 canvases by one of the virtuosos of the brush. A Czech by origin, but a Bulgarian at heart, he dedicated his life to Bulgaria and created some of the most exciting scenes of Bulgarian painting with a strong emotional impact and artistic mastery.
