Sofia residents are protesting against the two largest trade unions today, the Bulgarian National Radio reported. Their demonstration will be held under the motto “No to the priority of low-skilled labor over knowledge”.

“The event is a civil initiative against the policies and protests organized by the Confederation of Bulgarian Trade Unions and the Podkrepa Trade Union, which insist on salaries in low-skilled sectors, such as public transport, higher than those of doctors, engineers, teachers, lawyers, scientists and other specialists with higher education and long-term training”, the organizers wrote on social networks, emphasizing that they are not against decent pay for any profession.

A second protest by students and medical workers in Sofia, Varna and Pleven is also being prepared on social networks because of “unfair remuneration for labor”.
