On the occasion of International Children's Day - June 1, the Bulgarian State Railways is organizing a retro attraction trip from Sofia to Pernik and back, informs BTA. All traveling children will receive gifts.

The train will be pulled by the legendary steam locomotive No. 46.03, better known as "Baba Metsa" (Grandma Bear). The name is inspired by the not particularly high design speed, but great power, with which the machine carried heavy freight trains through Vladaya and Razmenna from the 1930s until the introduction of the diesel engines in the interval 1967-1969, BDZ explains.

The festive composition will include five more thematically decorated passenger cars, as well as one from the government train "Vitosha Express", which will be available for viewing during the stay at Pernik station.

The trip will start at 9.50 a.m. on June 1 from Sofia Central Station. After arriving in Pernik, passengers will have enough time to walk around and join the festive program in the town.
