During his participation in the 20th World Meeting of Bulgarian Media in Varshets, President Rumen Radev expressed concern that prices will rise as soon as the convergence report on Bulgaria’s readiness to join the eurozone is released. He urged people to monitor for any unjustified price increases in shops.

''If anyone owes answers to the Bulgarian people about the euro, it is those who submitted a request for an extraordinary convergence report, for whom our readiness for the euro area is limited to advertising and the technical preparation of post offices and banks to exchange currency. It is those who forgot about people with severe social problems, especially vulnerable to any price hike'', Rumen Radev added, as quoted by BTA.

“Measures are needed now, not sometime after the introduction of the euro”, President Radev added.
