More than 2,200 children from all over Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Moldova, the Republic of North Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Ukraine are taking part in the 22nd International Children's Ethno-Festival "The Children of the Balkans Spiritually in Europe".

The festival, taking place in the village of Mineralni Bani near Haskovo, was opened by Vice President Iliana Iotova and will continue until International Children’s Day, 1 June.

“In the course of three days, Mineralni Bani will be the capital city of the children of the Balkans, of Ukraine and from Moldova – with so many colours, national costumes, so much talent and beauty. The Balkans are usually seen as a source of conflicts and divisions. This festival shows that there are many people who are showing the Balkans’ other face, through the talent of our children,” Iliana Iotova said.

The festival is organized by the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria and the Prof. Dr. Zhelyazko Hristov charity fund, with the assistance of the Mineralni Bani municipality.
