The fifth edition of the “Science for Business” forum, organized by the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency, opens today at the capital’s Inter Expo Center, BTA reports. Its goal is to focus public attention on the importance of scientific research and its role in increasing the productivity and competitiveness of the Bulgarian economy, as well as in the introduction of new technologies and innovations.

During the forum, there will be a separate EXPO zone, in which the research institutes of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences will present their latest achievements and will introduce entrepreneurs to scientific and applied technologies, developments and projects for which partnership is needed. Some of them concern a new principle for obtaining nuclear energy; an unmanned robotic system for automated data collection from ground and/or underwater sensors; conversion of waste biomass into a sustainable material for energy storage; testing of photovoltaic modules and cells.
