Skopje is preparing new trial against Ljupcho Georgievski over publishing "Macedonian Blood Wedding"

On May 15, I was summoned for questioning in a second case. We published the book "Macedonian Blood Wedding" by Voydan Chernodrinski. It has not been formulated yet, but the accusation is for spreading racism. This was what Macedonian Bulgarian from Bitola, Ljupcho Georgievski told BNT.

He received a 12-month suspended sentence with a two-year probation period over racial hatred in North Macedonia. The reason is that the chairman of the now-closed cultural club "Ivan Mihaylov" was spreading quotes by Ivan Mihaylov on social networks, "instilling ethnic hatred, xenophobia and racism."

"The verdict is proof that our struggle is real and genuine. It proves that we really need to continue to speak out louder about the situation in our country. In my verdict it is written that I expressed my views in Bulgarian, as if the Bulgarian language is banned in North Macedonia and we should not dare to express ourselves in our mother tongue," Georgievski says.
