This year, Dilmana, a folklore dance group formed by our compatriots in Copenhagen, will visit Bulgaria for the first time to take part in the Na Armane s Tupane festival of traditional dances. The group announced this on their Facebook page.

The festival showcases a variety of traditional horo dances, performed by participants from folk dance clubs and ensembles. All performances at the festival are accompanied by live music from traditional folk orchestras. "We will keep you updated," the dancers promise.

Georgi Garov is the director of the international festival, which will take place on 27 and 28 June. Participation is expected from 33 clubs in Bulgaria, Denmark, the Netherlands, and the USA.

Dilmana was founded in 2010 by Lora Vardarova, an enthusiast of Bulgarian culture and traditions. It is the first international amateur group for Bulgarian folk dances in Denmark. "We are a vibrant community of individuals united by a shared passion for Bulgarian folk dance, music, culture and traditions. We dance Balkan and horo dances from all regions of Bulgaria, from the fast-paced rhythms of the Shoppe region to the slow, temperate movements of the Rhodope Mountains, and many more,” states the Dilmana website.
