BNB: Household bank loans in Bulgaria increase by over 20% year-on-year

According to data from the Bulgarian National Bank, household bank loans in Bulgaria surpassed €25.5 billion mark, reaching €25.59 billion by the end of May 2025.

The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) reported that the total loan amount had increased by 20.7% compared to the same period last year.

Consumer loans stood at €14.43 billion at the end of May, marking a year-on-year increase of 26.7%. Consumer loans amounted to €10.18 billion, marking a 14% annual increase.
