In a tradition that began informally over 40 years ago and has evolved over time, thousands of people crowded onto Bulgarian beaches on 1 July to welcome the sunrise.
July Morning was celebrated in many places with rock concerts that continued through the night. Although it has no official status, the holiday is now widely embraced. It has become a symbol of freedom and hope.
In Burgas, seven bands performed on a stage by the sea, with Tangra headlining, according to BNR correspondent Daniela Kostadinova.
Similar gatherings took place in many other locations along the Black Sea coast.
One such place was Varna, where a five-hour music marathon featuring Stanley and the rock band SEVI took place. The event was accompanied by the opening of the 'July Festival is Back' exhibition, organised by the Municipality of Varna, as reported by BNR Varna.
The exhibition features archival photographs that capture the spirit and emotion of July Morning celebrations over the years at the Sea Terminal breakwater, where people traditionally gather on 1 July to watch the sunrise.
