The Ministry of Tourism has carried out nearly 200 checks in Bulgarian Black Sea resorts over the past month, Minister Miroslav Borshosh reported.

An inspection is currently underway in Sunny Beach. “We want to put a stop to all types of illegal trade, such as failing to issue receipts and selling counterfeit goods,” Borshosh said, adding that the resorts' hygiene is also being inspected. Repeat inspections have been scheduled at sites where irregularities have been found, BNR reporter Mira Stefanova reported.

Borshosh pointed out that Bulgaria ranks second in the EU for clean sea water. “This is a very important and serious ranking. We are ahead of large countries such as Greece, Spain, Italy and Portugal. This is extremely important for Bulgarian tourism,’ he said.
