National Assembly reduces tuition fees at first reading

Photo: BTA

Tuition fees at state universities should not exceed 75% of the expenses for the training. This was what MPs decided with amendments to the Higher Education Act adopted on Wednesday at first reading. It is expected that after the adoption of the legislative amendments, tuition fees for students will be reduced by 25%, BNR reporter Daniel Inkov informed.

The news comes against the backdrop of student protests planned for this evening over the anticipated serious increase in tuition fees. According to students this would lead to tuition fees at state universities becoming higher or equal to those at private universities.
