On Friday, the National Assembly will vote on a no-confidence motion against the cabinet of Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov over ''failures in environmental and water policy''. The fourth no-confidence motion against the current government was tabled by the smallest parliamentary group, Velichie. It is supported by MPs from Vazrazhdane and MECH. Today, the MPs held a debate on the motion of no-confidence for four hours.

The first two unsuccessful no-confidence motions were initiated by Vazrazhdane over "failures in foreign policy" and by MECH over "failure to combat corruption". The third motion of no-confidence took place on July 4. It was initiated by Vazrazhdane with support from Velichie and MECH, citing "failures in the government’s fiscal policy."

According to the Bulgarian Constitution, if the National Assembly rejects a no-confidence motion, a new motion on the same grounds cannot be submitted within six months.
