Bulgaria is gradually attaining Vasil Levski’s ideal that we shall be equal to all other European nations, said Deputy PM and Minister of Transport Grozdan Karadjov at a ceremony marking the new name of the airport in Sofia – Vasil Levski.
“The name Vasil Levski is more than just the name of a Bulgarian revolutionary and champion for freedom, it is a name and a symbol of every cause. We want every Bulgarian citizen and every guest coming to Sofia airport to remember Levski’s ideals of “a pure and sacred republic”. This is an ideal built into every one of our undertakings,” Minister Karadjov said further.
After the airport in Sofia was re-named Vasil Levski, there is a proposal to erect a monument to him in the vicinity of the airport, academician Julian Revalski announced at the ceremony.
