Those with a sweet tooth often associate the town of Ruse with the rich chocolate-and-walnut delight known as Garash cake. On 13 September, Ruse on the Danube will host a special celebration dedicated to this iconic dessert. The organisers have unveiled the event's official logo.
It was chosen after a tough competition in which 42 artists showcased their creativity and appreciation for the cake’s history. The winning design was created by Gergana Mollova from Ruse. It features an image of the cake against a sketch of the city’s iconic Dohodno Zdanie building, accompanied by the slogan 'Garash Cake – The Taste of Ruse Since 1885'.
Mollova, who has 15 years of design experience and an international clientele, brought professional flair and local pride to the project. The idea for the contest arose during a public discussion about organising the fourth Garash Cake Festival, which has become Ruse’s most popular annual event.
Participants emphasised that the new logo should establish the Garash Cake Festival as a recognisable tourist brand and a proud cultural and culinary symbol of the city.
