The consumer basket currently costs 101 leva (EUR 51.64), compared to 94 leva (EUR 48.06) for the same period in 2024. This represents an increase of 7 leva (EUR 3.58 euros), announced Vladimir Ivanov, Chairman of the Commodity Exchange and Wholesale Markets State Commission, at a briefing. He presented a weekly overview of wholesale price trends for basic food products, fruits and vegetables for the period May 20-July 21, 2025.

Fruit prices have contributed the most to the overall increase. They have gone up by 4 leva (EUR 1.94) due to the drought. Prices of basic food products have increased by 3 leva (EUR 1.53).
