3 hours and 10 minutes, 31 songs and more than 40,000 fans. Those are the stats from Guns N’ Roses’ return to Sofia on July 21 at the Vasil Levski National Stadium, reported BTA. Countless guitars passed through Slash’s hands during the show, and Axl Rose was tireless on stage. The band delivered a world-class light and multimedia show.

The American hard rock band took the stage just before 7:20 p.m., and under the scorching July sun, opened with Welcome to the Jungle. After another 18 songs, Axl Rose handed the microphone over to Duff McKagan for the cover of Thunder and Lightning, released by Thin Lizzy in 1983. Addressing the roaring stadium, Axl Rose said: “Thank you for making us feel at home.”

Before the headliners, the audience was warmed up by a 40-minute set from the American group Public Enemy. Guns N’ Roses first performed in Bulgaria in July 2012 at the Sofia Rocks festival.
