From July 24 to 26, Kyustendil will host the 21st edition of the International Folklore Festival "Srebarna Pafta/Silver Belt Buckle" – a celebration of cultural diversity and dance art from around the world, BTA reports.
The festival will bring together on one stage the rhythms, colors and traditions of peoples from different parts of the world. Dance groups from Paraguay, Armenia, Uzbekistan, China, Slovakia, Serbia, the Republic of North Macedonia and Bulgaria will participate in this year's edition of the festival.
Traditionally, the festival begins with a parade of the participants through the city center.
The festival was first held in 2004 at the initiative of Valentin Kenov – chairman of the Pautalia 2008 community center and choreographer of the Pautalia Ensemble. Its goal is to promote folklore, foster friendships between nations and showcase the cultural richness of various countries.
