The National Assembly adopted a declaration condemning the ongoing war against Ukraine and the political repression of Vladimir Putin's regime with 112 votes in favour. The draft document was submitted by We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria (PP-DB).

The text refers to the illegal annexation of Crimea in 2014 and Russia's full-scale military aggression against Ukraine since February 2022, as well as war crimes such as the Bucha massacre.

It also mentions the Russian navy's provocative actions in Bulgaria's economic zone in the Black Sea in 2023.

It expresses support for EU sanctions against the Russian Federation and solidarity with Ukraine. The draft document emphasises the importance of strengthening Bulgaria's national security and independence by accelerating reforms in the security sector.
