Bulgarian students return with 12 medals from biology and linguistics olympiads

Today, Bulgarian students returned with 12 awards from prestigious international Olympiads in Taiwan and the Philippines. Vanesa Kalinkova, a student in the Science and Mathematics High School in Burgas, won a gold medal for Bulgaria and first place in the world at the 22nd International Linguistics Olympiad held in Taipei. Nikola Nikolov from the American College of Sofia placed second. The Bulgarian team also took two silver, two bronze and two honorary diplomas.

In the Philippines, at the International Biology Olympiad, four Bulgarian high school students from the National High School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences in Sofia won two silver and two bronze ones. The talented students were welcomed at the Vasil Levski Airport in Sofia with applause, cheers, flowers, balloons and gifts.
