Adopting the euro will not make tourism more expensive, it will even reduce some prices

Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone on January 1, 2026 will not make vacations more expensive. This is what Rumen Draganov, director of the Institute for Analysis and Forecasts in Tourism told the Bulgarian National Radio. The prices for 2026 are being determined now, the expert added. There are no stupid tourists, Draganov said and pointed out that with the adoption of the euro there should be a reduction in the prices of taxis and additional services. If someone has empty rooms in the hotel today, then they are not adequate to the competition, he also said. In every Bulgarian restaurant there is Greek salad, but no Greek restaurant offers Shopska salad. There is no such free advertising anywhere in the world, Draganov also said.
