Bulgaria's GDP grows by 3.1% in the last three months

In the second quarter of 2025, Bulgaria's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 3.1% compared to the second quarter of the previous year and by 0.7% compared to the first quarter of 2025, according to NSI data, BGNES informs.


According to national statistics, in the second quarter of 2025, gross value added increased by 2.5%.

According to GDP express estimates, the reason for the registered economic growth, compared to the previous quarter, is the increase in final consumption by 0.9% and in exports of goods by 0.6%.

The largest share in GDP is occupied by final consumption - by 80.0%, which amounts to 41,329.0 million BGN /over 20 billion EUR/. Gross capital formation is BGN 9,896.6 million (nearly EUR 5 billion) and accounts for 19.1% of GDP. The foreign trade balance is positive.
