The interest among young people of Bulgarian origin from abroad in studying at Bulgarian higher education institutions is growing. Among those who have enrolled for the upcoming academic year, the largest number are those from Ukraine, Moldova, North Macedonia and Serbia.
A decree of the Council of Ministers provides preferential conditions for such an opportunity for our compatriots from the diaspora without Bulgarian citizenship.
Bulgaria's Ministry of Education and Science provides 2,000 places for Bulgarians from abroad, with students exempted from tuition fees, receiving subsidies for dormitories and scholarships. The most preferred majors remain medicine, economy and architecture. The application process has been simplified and is conducted entirely online.
The Ministry of Education continues to work actively to attract the Bulgarian diaspora through information campaigns and meetings.
