"Short Film, Long Bus" is the name of an intriguing event set to take place from August 22 to 24 in the town of Kyustendil (Southwestern Bulgaria). The project by the Students’ Community Center St. Kliment Ohridski 1997 combines a festival of short documentary films from around the world with a workshop for training young talents, Emanuela Dyulgerska, head of the Department of Culture and Spiritual Developmentat Kyustendil Municipality, told BTA.
A thirteen-meter-long Chavdar bus, which had been kept in a garage since the socialist era and was recently restored, will tour the southwestern towns of Kyustendil, Sandanski, and Petrich, providing an alternative space for art.
The film workshop will be held on August 22 and 23 at the Youth Center in Kyustendil. It will include a training day with a documentary film director and cinematographer, followed by a day dedicated to shooting and editing short films up to 3 minutes long.
On August 24, the festival program includes screenings of selected Bulgarian short films and meetings between the audience and Bulgarian filmmakers.
