One of the sectors with most benefits from the adoption of the euro in this country will be tourism, Deputy Minister of Tourism Irena Georgieva has told the Bulgarian National Radio. “Bulgaria is becoming a more accessible destination and the euro can be a very serious part of the country’s advertising abroad,” she said.

According to Irena Georgieva, the tourism industry is largely prepared for the transition to the European currency. “We have experience in offering tourist packages both in levs and in euros,” she pointed out. According to her, at the beginning of next year, the two currencies will make consumers use bank cards more often.

“The euro means connectivity that will provide even greater opportunities for the tourism industry. We expect there would be no stress after the adoption of the currency,” Irena Georgieva also said.
