Bulgarian President Rumen Radev spoke by phone with the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad al-Thani. The Bulgarian Head of State stressed the importance of efforts in a global plan to counter terrorism and expressed his concern about the escalation of tension in the Middle East as a result of the air strike carried out by the State of Israel in the capital of Qatar, Doha.

Radev added that hundreds of Bulgarians live and work in the territory of the Qatari capital, the press service of the Head of State reported.

The President expressed hope for the earliest possible cessation of military actions in the Middle East and preventing the expansion of the territorial scope of the conflict, which threatens international peace and security.

Rumen Radev once again expressed his gratitude for the personal commitment of the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani for the release of the Bulgarian captains of the ship "Galaxy Leader".
