The exhibition “Sofia - Istanbul: Bridge of Art” will be presented from December 4 to January 3, 2026, at the gallery of the Union of Bulgarian Artists in Sofia, the organizers announced. The project promotes long-term cultural cooperation and artistic exchange between Sofia and Istanbul by displaying works with personal stories of Bulgarian-Turkish artists, BTA reports.

In 2026, the exhibition will be arranged in Istanbul in a gallery in the artistic district of Beyoglu - a space that embodies the cosmopolitan spirit and lively cultural exchange of the metropolis, near the Bosphorus. The project involves Ziyatin Nuriev, as well as Kamber Kamber, an artist with a recognizable style. The exhibition will feature works by 22 more authors who weave personal stories, cultural memory and artistic expression into their works.

Curators Yulia Varbanova and Dr. Rositsa Gicheva-Meimari say that their concept stems from the common ethno-cultural history of Bulgaria and Turkey in the space of interactions of the Balkans and Anatolia.
