Bulgaria takes first place in group at World Volleyball Championship, advances to 1/8 finals

The Bulgarian national volleyball team won first place in its group at the World Volleyball Championship in the Philippines after defeating the team of Chile in the third match. In Manila, the Bulgarians led by the Italian coach Gianlorenzo Blengini were uncompromising and won 3:0 (25:17, 25:12, 25:12).

Thus, at the top of the standings in Group “E” the Bulgarians have 8 points. Slovenia and Germany, which were defeated by the Bulgarian team 3:2 and 3:0 respectively, will later today determine the second team in the group. 

On Monday, Bulgaria will meet the team that took second place in Group D. The standings will be clear after the last match USA - Cuba.
