Before the fifth vote of no confidence against the government of Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, opposition MPs from "We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" blocked the entrance to the courtyard of the parliament. The action was announced in support of Varna Mayor Blagomir Kotsev and former Deputy Mayor of Sofia Nikola Barbutov, who are detained for corruption. According to the opposition, they are political prisoners.
