The prosecutor's office in Germany has filed charges against Ruja Ignatova, the head of the office in Bielefeld, Carsten Novak, said. The woman, who has Bulgarian and German citizenship, is suspected of having created a pyramid scheme with the cryptocurrency OneCoin, for which she has been wanted for years. The indictment against the self-proclaimed "crypto queen" Ignatova is 600 pages long. It lists 17,500 victims and the total damage is estimated at 57 million euros. She is on the FBI's list of the 10 most wanted criminals in the world, as well as on the Europol list of most wanted persons, DPA reported, quoted by BNR Horizont.

Ignatova, whose company had headquarters in the town of Greven, disappeared without a trace in 2017. On October 25 of that year, she travelled from Sofia to Athens and has been missing ever since.
