PM Zhelyazkov is in New York for the 80th session of the UN General Assembly

He will be attending the reception for the Bulgarian community at the Consulate General

Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov has arrived in New York leading the Bulgarian delegation to the 80th regular session of the United Nations General Assembly. 

During his visit, Zhelyazkov is expected to address the General Assembly and hold bilateral meetings with representatives of other countries, international organisations, and business leaders. A meeting with UN Secretary-General António Guterres is also planned.

The theme of this year’s session is “Better together: 80 years and more for peace, development and human rights.”

The Bulgarian delegation includes Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev, Minister of Justice Georgi Georgiev, Minister of Health Silvi Kirilov, Minister of Energy Zhecho Stankov, and Minister of Labour and Social Policy Borislav Gutsanov.

On the occasion of the 117th anniversary of Bulgaria’s declaration of independence, Prime Minister Zhelyazkov will be a special guest at the official reception for the Bulgarian community, organised by the Consulate General of Bulgaria
