"One of the first tasks of this government eight months ago was literally to save Bulgaria’s Recovery and Resilience Plan", said Deputy Premier Tomislav Donchev before the start of today’s cabinet meeting. According to Tomislav Donchev, successful efforts have been made to accelerate payments and project implementation. On the other hand, the request by opposition MEPs to suspend funding under the Recovery and Resilience Plan cannot be underestimated, Tomislav Donchev noted.
He called on Bulgarian municipalities, small and medium-sized enterprises, agencies and non-governmental organizations to continue carrying out their projects. "We’re pursuing an ambitious deadline — August next year. These political storms should not result in hesitation or any slowdown in the implementation of the projects. Funds to cover project expenses — both from the government to beneficiaries and from the European Commission to Bulgaria — will be available", Tomislav Donchev added, as quoted by BNT.
