Bulgarian para-athlete Ruzhdi Ruzhdi won his sixth world title in the Men’s F55 Shot Put at the World Para Athletics Championships held in New Delhi, India. The two-time Paralympic champion from Rio 2016 and Paris 2024 secured first place with a world record throw of 12.94 meters, improving his own previous best by 26 centimeters, which he had set at the World Championships in Paris 2023.
Ruzhdi took the lead with his very first throw in the final, registering 12.38 meters — one of only two throws over 12 meters among the ten competitors. He held the lead until the very end, when he made a successful attempt for the world record.
