Weather forecast for 7 October

Cloudy and rainy, red warning issued for eastern Bulgaria

On Tuesday, Bulgaria will experience cloudy and rainy conditions, with prolonged and heavy rain expected in the eastern and northern regions. In the southwestern and south-central areas, the rain will ease off, though there may still be some scattered showers. Moderate to strong winds will blow from the northwest, and from the northeast in the north-eastern regions. Minimum temperatures will range from 6 to 11°C, around 8°C in Sofia, while maximum temperatures will reach 10 to 15°C, near 10°C in the capital.


A red warning for dangerous amounts of rainfall has been issued for all areas along the Black Sea coast. Heavy rain is expected to start overnight and continue into the day. Winds will be light to moderate from the southeast. Maximum temperatures will range from 14 to 20°C, with sea temperatures around 18°C. Sea conditions will be moderate, reaching force 3.


In the mountains, cloud cover will remain significant. In the southwest, there will be intermittent rain, with snow falling above 1,800 metres. More persistent and heavier rainfall is expected in the Stara Planina and Strandzha mountain ranges. Maximum temperatures will reach around 8°C at 1,200 metres and around 0°C at 2,000 metres.


On Wednesday, cloudiness will persist with rain in many areas, heavier in eastern and northern Bulgaria. Maximum temperatures will predominantly be between 10 and 15°C, with minimums between 5 and 10°C.
