For the first time, Bulgaria’s Minister of Finance Temenuzhka Petkova took part as an observer in the regular meeting of the Eurogroup held in Luxembourg, the Ministry of Finance said. Until now, Bulgaria has only participated in Eurogroup meetings in inclusive format, attended by Ministers of Finance from all EU member states.

The meeting focused on the economic prospects in the euro area, fiscal developments in member countries, economic forecasts and preparations for the upcoming annual G20 and International Monetary Fund forums in Washington.

Temenuzhka Petkova has proposed that December 31, 2025, and January 2, 2026, be declared one-time non-working days due to the euro changeover. The proposal has been published on the government's public consultation portal.
