The number of Ukrainian citizens with temporary protection in the country who are accommodated in hotels and other facilities under the program for humanitarian support and integration of displaced persons from Ukraine has decreased by half. Currently, there are 2,732 people, down from 5,647 in the spring, reported Deputy Premier Atanas Zafirov, who is also the chairman of the National Operational Headquarters.
Since May 1, the government has changed the conditions for accommodating Ukrainians. Shelter is now provided only to vulnerable groups — people over 65 years old, persons with permanent disabilities, caregivers of seriously ill individuals, mothers with children up to 12 years old and pregnant women. For those who do not fall into a risk group, shelter is provided for 60 calendar days, while shelter for vulnerable individuals from risk groups remains indefinite. Accommodation facilities include state or municipal properties, as well as hotels.
