From today until 28 October, Vidin will transform into a cultural hub to celebrate its patron saint's day - St Dimitar's Day (Dimitrovden). The new festival, “October Arts Days”, features a rich programme combining music, theatre, visual arts, and literature, the organisers told BTA.
The world-famous Gipsy Kings, together with Pablo Reyes — one of the finest guitarists and vocalists — will deliver an unforgettable evening of flamenco rhythms. For this special event, a guitar crafted in Bulgaria has been made for the concert on 25 October at Bdinci Square.
Other highlights include a recital by the popular singer Lyubo Kirov, a concert by the Vidin Symphony Orchestra to celebrate the 255th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven's birth, theatre performances featuring well-known actors, puppet shows for children and an exhibition to mark the 110th anniversary of the Vidin artist Vladimir Manski.
Additionally, 3D mapping projections will bring the façades of Bulgaria’s first theatre building and the Stambol Gate to life, creating a vibrant visual spectacle for visitors.
