The sale of Lukoil’s assets in Bulgaria will take place only after a decision by the Council of Ministers and approval from DANS

Bulgaria’s National Assembly approved at second reading amendments to the Investment Promotion Act. Under the changes, the assets of the Russian company Lukoil in Bulgaria can be sold only after a decision by the Council of Ministers and following a positive opinion from the State Agency for National Security (DANS). DANS will be required to conduct a preliminary investigation and issue a written opinion before any transaction involving shares or equity in Lukoil-Bulgaria, Lukoil Neftochim Burgas and Lukoil Aviation Bulgaria.

191 MPs participated in the vote. 119 MPs voted in favor, 70 voted against and two MPs abstained.
