The acting head of the Embassy, Stefka Yovcheva, emphasized that thousands of Bulgarian Jews who found a new home in Israel after the war keep alive the memory of the mercy of the Bulgarian people. Yovcheva was presented with a symbolic sign of tzedakah, as a gesture of gratitude for her friendship and support.

The Embassy team in Washington expressed gratitude to B'nai B'rith and personally to Dan Mariaschin for the valuable contribution and continued support for strengthening the strategic partnership between Bulgaria, Israel and the United States.
