Australian author Joanna Murray-Smith visits Sofia

Australian author Joanna Murray-Smith is coming to Sofia at the invitation of the Nikolay Binev Youth Theater. She is visiting Bulgaria for the first time between November 5 and 9, 2025 for a specially organized "Panorama of Joanna Murray-Smith", which aims to bring the author together with her audience in Sofia, BTA reported.

Staged and translated around the world in over twenty languages, her plays feature actors such as Meryl Streep, Annette Bening, Laura Linney, Eileen Atkins, Diana Rigg.

Her plays "Honor" and "Ninety" (directed by Ivaylo Hristov), ​​"Hidden Lemons" (directed by Nikolay Polyakov) and "Switzerland" (directed by Vladimir Lyutskanov) have been staged in Bulgaria, and are performed at "Theater 199", "Sofia" Theater and the Youth Theater.
